Pietro Mascagni (1863 -1945)
Cavelleria rusticana (Rustic Chivalry) is an opera by Italian composer Pietro Mascagni. This beautiful and compassionate theme is also arranged for solo piano and duo with the violin.
It is termed intermezzo to mean a short piece of music or composition that is suitable as an intermission between other musical pieces.
This is one of my favourite pieces of music while having an Italian meal at home. Bon appetito!
