Last year, Sydneysiders got their long-awaited taste of Frank Camorra‘s Spanish tapas when MoVida opened in Surry Hills.
After more than a decade since it burst into the Melbourne dining scene, Camorra’s Spanish tapas restaurant has morphed into a total of four outposts.
“Each bite-size cube is so tender, it melts in your mouth.
The savoury soy sauce from the braise leaves a lingering, lip-smacking taste that
makes you yearn for that next decadent chunk of fatty pork belly.”

“Shucking an oyster is like pursuing a beautiful woman.
You pry away at it and when it begins to give, you know the sweet reward is imminent.”

With the new upgrade of Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre and refurbishment of The Concourse over the last few years, Chatswood has morphed into a thriving CBD and metropolis in Sydney’s lower north shore.
“Carving into a 300 gm piece of Black Angus is like drinking an aged bottle of red
without decanting and giving time for the wine to breath.
Good as they may be, it does no justice to either the meat or the wine.”

“But I love a hearty slice of pizza when I’m hungry” I lament.
“Well, why don’t you try asking your friends what they want for dinner instead of thinking about yourself all the time?” Mysaucepan says.
Being a meat lover, one of the things I love about Sydney is that just about every suburb in this city has a local butcher that offers a delicious range of poultry, beef, lamb and pork.
“If any Sydney restaurant can boast a breakthrough dish of international acclaim,
then it would surely enhance the city’s claim to being a serious food destination.”

any classic French bouillabaisse in taste and flavour.”

UPDATE February 2015: This restaurant is permanently closed for business.
What’s the formula for a successful cafe in cosmopolitan Sydney?

If there is a suburb in Sydney that can pass as a haunt for good, honest Japanese food, then Artarmon in the lower north shore would be it.
“Squeeze a bit of lemon juice onto the steaming hot chicken pieces and let the tandoori spices do its work. When I think of Indian at home, this is one dish I would replicate.”

Everytime I make a trip to Melbourne, I know in the back of my mind that good and honest food abound in this elegant city.
Living at opposite ends of Australia, it’s not often that my sister and I get to have a meal together so during my brief visit to Perth, she suggests a bite of lunch down in the city.
The weather has been great since I got to Perth to visit my sister and her family and today is no exception. The two-hour time difference between Perth and Sydney means I am awake by about 6am in the morning.
Located 10km directly west of Perth CBD, I am here in City Beach this week to visit my sister and her family.
“I can easily eat this delicious chicken as a leftover cold meat the next day
and the coagulated gravy gel melting in my mouth would be bonus too.”
